Xbox is adding Mythic Achievements, a new reward that mirrors the role of PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies, according to Wccftech. The feature was described in an Xbox Wire blog post.
A Mythic Achievement unlocks only after a player completes all of a game’s base Achievements. That makes it an additional milestone for players who finish the full set of standard achievements in a title.
The Xbox Wire post calls Mythic Achievements one of the community’s most requested features. Wccftech notes that the Xbox Achievements system launched on November 22, 2005, and describes the absence of a comparable reward as a longstanding gap.
The new achievement is intended to give players an extra reason to complete a game’s available Achievements, extending the time they spend with the title. The source compares the mechanic with PlayStation’s Platinum Trophies, which serve a similar completion-based role.
