PlayStation 5 Emulation Reaches New Milestone on iGPU

PlayStation 5 emulation is making rapid progress. In a few weeks, the KyTyPS5 emulator has gone from barely booting games to reaching a 30 FPS milestone in the Demon's Souls remake.

KyTyPS5 is also running other games, including Grand Theft Auto V. Properly emulating Sony's current-generation console will likely require high-end systems, but recent progress also offers hope for lower-end hardware.

A fork of the emulator, KyTyPlus, recently reached another milestone by rendering the Unreal Engine 5-powered Silent Hill 2 remake on an iGPU, according to a report on the Emulators subreddit.
