NVIDIA DLSS 5 Reimplementation Runs on RTX 40 GPUs and Web Browsers

NVIDIA DLSS 5 has drawn attention from the modding community, and developer MAAN has released OpenDLSS-NR, an open-source Vulkan reimplementation of the technology’s Neural Rendering network, Wccftech reports.

The project recreates the original 71-block neural network found in the DLSS-NR runtime/DLL version 310.8.0. MAAN claims that OpenDLSS-NR produces bit-exact results compared with NVIDIA’s implementation, including intermediate outputs rather than only the final rendered image.

DLSS Super Resolution reconstructs higher-resolution images from lower-resolution inputs. DLSS 5 Neural Rendering instead operates on an already rendered frame, enhancing its appearance with AI-generated detail and adjustments to lighting, materials, and facial features.

According to the report, OpenDLSS-NR runs on RTX 40 GPUs and can also operate in web browsers. The release provides an open-source Vulkan implementation of the Neural Rendering network while reproducing the behavior described for NVIDIA’s DLSS-NR technology.
