Huawei Watch D3 adds health tracking but keeps a bulky design

TechRadar’s review says the Huawei Watch D3 improves on the Huawei Watch D2, but still leaves room for refinement. The smartwatch combines blood pressure monitoring with pulse wave arrhythmia analysis, beat-by-beat ECG and arterial stiffness detection.

The D3 is designed primarily as a medical device and carries CE-MDR certification. Its blood pressure function uses a mechanical airbag and pressure sensor built into the strap. TechRadar found the airbag narrower than on the D2, but still less comfortable than most smartwatches. The review also notes that a dedicated cuff comparison was not possible.

In testing, the arrhythmia analysis worked reliably, while the ECG repeatedly produced poor signal issues. A separate heart-rate monitor reported identical rates, although the D3 responded more slowly to changes. The watch is 2mm thinner than its predecessor, measuring 11.3mm, but the lower sensor adds some discomfort.

The D3 has a 1.92-inch AMOLED display with 3,000 nits of peak brightness, more than 100 workout modes, notifications, Bluetooth calling, NFC payments and voice-note recording. TechRadar says it costs £50 more than the D2 did at launch. Purchases made before September 22, 2027 include 10 months of Bupa Well+ health services.
