Aoostar Maco 6850H review: an older chip with standout connectivity

TechRadar’s Mark Pickavance reviewed the Aoostar Maco 6850H, a compact mini PC built around AMD’s Ryzen 7 PRO 6850H. The processor dates to 2022, but the review says it remains capable for general desktop work.

The system pairs an eight-core processor with 24GB of soldered LPDDR5 memory running at 6400 MT/s. The memory cannot be upgraded. Pickavance says the configuration helped it outperform the newer AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS in the review’s tests, though the source provides no benchmark figures.

Connectivity is a highlight: the Maco 6850H has three PCIe 4.0 NVMe slots, dual 2.5GbE networking, two USB4 ports and an OCuLink port. The reviewed configuration includes 1TB of storage. The chassis measures 150 × 132 × 57mm and has a fingerprint reader in its power button. It does not include a VESA mounting plate.

TechRadar reports a direct price of $459 in the US and Germany. In the UK, it costs $519 and ships from China; the article notes this is $60 more than the US price. The review describes the mini PC as offering strong value, while pointing to its older processor generation and fixed memory as trade-offs.
