YouTube adds AI tools for creators in Studio

YouTube announced new tools for YouTube Studio, its app for managing channels, at the Made on YouTube annual event. The updates are designed to help creators analyze videos and develop their audiences.

Ask Studio, YouTube’s AI-powered question-and-answer feature, is expanding to iOS and Android. A new draft-feedback tool will examine an unpublished video and suggest changes to pacing, structure, and storytelling. A research feed will also show what types of content are working on the platform, allowing creators to apply their own approach.

YouTube Studio will generate thumbnails and titles from a video’s content and match them to a creator’s style. Its dynamic thumbnail feature can generate three options and show each to a different audience segment. YouTube said creators have used its A/B testing feature for more than 40 million tests on titles and thumbnails.

Soon, users will be able to test up to three video cuts to compare opening hooks. Later this year, YouTube Studio will automatically monitor thumbnail performance and proactively change a thumbnail if it performs poorly. YouTube is also updating analytics to explain performance beyond raw numbers and offer suggestions for making content more engaging. Other announced tools include conversational editing in Shorts and the YouTube Create app.
