Technics has announced the EAH-A1000, a new over-ear wireless headphone model that builds on the EAH-A800. TechRadar’s Becky Scarrott tried a review sample ahead of its release, but said her testing was still in progress and the headphones were running their final software version.
The EAH-A1000 uses a 40mm driver with Technics’ Magnetic Fluid technology, alongside a carbon-fiber diaphragm, an SST (Symmetrical Surround Technology) Edge, a redesigned acoustic control chamber and a Baffle Flat Structure. Technics says these features are intended to improve driver movement and reduce distortion and unwanted reflections.
Features include high-resolution audio playback through LDAC and USB Audio, multipoint connectivity for up to three devices, and up to 45 hours of continuous playback without ANC and LDAC. Scarrott also tested the head-tracked spatial audio profile optimized for Dolby Atmos and ANC, but reserved judgment for a full review.
Scarrott described the sound quality so far as “superb” and the headphones as comfortable. The EAH-A1000 is priced at $449, £399 or €449 and is scheduled to become available on September 30. The article does not give a year for that date.
