Cricut’s StickerPix machines print, cut and laminate stickers

Cricut has announced two compact crafting machines designed to turn photos and other images into stickers: the StickerPix Print plus Cut and the StickerPix Print. The company says they are among the smallest machines in its current lineup.

The larger StickerPix Print plus Cut starts at $299. It works with 4-by-7-inch sticker sheets and 4-by-6-inch photo paper, and uses dye-sublimation printing, which applies heat rather than spraying ink. Both new machines have built-in lamination intended to help prints resist water, scratches and fading.

The StickerPix Print starts at $169 and does not cut stickers. Instead, it prints on pre-cut sheets with circle, rectangle and square shapes. It can also print 4-by-6-inch photos.

The Print plus Cut makes kiss-cut stickers by cutting through only the top layer, leaving each sticker attached to its backing sheet. Cricut’s larger machines can make die-cut stickers by cutting through the backing paper. Both StickerPix models are also offered in bundles with additional consumables, according to The Verge.
