Xreal Aura Smart Glasses Pair 2K Displays With Android XR

Xreal’s Aura smart glasses combine see-through 2K displays with Android XR features while keeping their battery and processing hardware in an external compute puck. TechRadar tried the glasses at IFA 2026.

The displays have a 70-degree field of view, compared with the 1,080p screens used by similar earlier smart glasses. Aura also includes Bose-tuned speakers, a microphone and cameras for hand tracking and tools such as Circle to Search, which lets users search Google for something they see by drawing a circle around it with their hand.

The compute puck doubles as a trackpad. Users can scroll across its surface to move a digital cursor, while hand tracking provides additional controls. The glasses can access the Google Play Store for XR and flat apps, display streaming content on a large virtual screen, use Gemini across apps and run Google Docs. Multiple virtual windows can appear together in the user’s field of view.

Through a USB-C cable and a compatible device, including most phones, laptops, tablets and several consoles and handhelds, users can display another screen through the glasses. In a demonstration, TechRadar watched a GTA 6 trailer while playing Hades on a Steam Deck, with Gemini providing gaming coaching.

Xreal has not confirmed an exact release date or price. Its website says Aura will arrive in Fall 2026 and cost no more than $1,500.
