Amazon has introduced a new Fire TV Stick 4K and a redesigned Fire TV remote. The company says the streaming stick gets viewers watching 20% to 40% faster than rival 4K streaming sticks, while apps launch 35% faster. These are Amazon’s own test claims; TechRadar notes that the comparison video is an animation based on Amazon’s data, not a demonstration on real devices.
The new stick is slimmer than its predecessor and runs Amazon’s Vega operating system, which does not support sideloading apps. Alexa+ is included, with a dedicated Fire TV hub for movie and show recommendations. The Fire TV app also uses Alexa+ to manage watchlists and find shows on phones. Updates for existing Alexa+ devices begin rolling out in the US in November 2026 and elsewhere in 2027.
Amazon is organizing its streaming-stick range into HD, 4K and 4K Max tiers. The 4K Max includes Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and Alexa+ Home Theater. The new remote has a customizable star button, tactile button shapes and a metal surface on the Home button. It works with Fire TV players released since 2019 and Amazon Ember TVs.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K is available for $59.99 or £59.99. Amazon says it will cost $39.99 during the sale starting October 6. The redesigned remote is also sold separately for $14.99 in the US, with shipping expected in late October 2026. A Fire TV Remote Plus is planned for early 2027.
