Adobe Premiere has arrived on Android, nearly a year after its release for Apple users. TechRadar's Steve Clark spent an hour testing the app on a Fairphone and found it responsive, easy to navigate and capable of handling relatively large video files.
According to Adobe, the app supports Android 13 or later and requires at least 5GB of RAM. Its tools include 4K video editing, templates, a multi-track timeline, music and audio effects, transitions, text, aspect-ratio controls and generative AI for images and video. Exported videos are watermark-free, and the app has no ads or added promotional intros and outros.
Free users receive a limited number of AI-generation tokens. Clark produced one 4-second 720p clip before needing to upgrade or sign in to a main account. The app can generate video in 720p and 1080p, define first and last frames, change duration and add audio.
Export settings include 720p, 1080p and 4K resolutions, frame rates between 24 and 60fps, and low, medium or high quality. Clark exported a 17-second video in 4K at the highest quality; the 106.5MB file took 34 seconds. He described the app as very good, while noting that the AI limit is the main catch for non-subscribers.
