Apple’s “Pro and tell” event is scheduled for October 28 at 1PM ET in Los Angeles. The Verge’s Terrence O’Brien reports that a touchscreen MacBook Pro appears likely, though Apple has not confirmed what it will announce.
Rumors point to an OLED touchscreen, an iPhone-style Dynamic Island and gesture controls in native apps. The laptop may use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips; Apple could hold off on higher-end M6 processors until it introduces M7 next year. The MacBook Ultra name has circulated, but a rebrand of Apple’s flagship laptop line is considered unlikely.
A base MacBook Pro could instead move from M5 to M6, with a possible slight redesign and a hole-punch-style camera. A price increase is also expected, amid component shortages, according to the report.
Other rumored announcements include an M6 iMac, nearly two years after its last revision, and an OLED iPad Mini. The iMac may skip M5 and gain new color options. The iPad Mini could get a processor upgrade from A17 to A20, which debuted with iPhone 18; its display change may add $100 to the price. These details remain unconfirmed.
