Sweden’s State Data Center Procurement Must Be Rerun

Sweden’s Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency says the state’s data center procurement must be rerun across all tender areas after an administrative court granted a supplier’s application for a review. The agency is analyzing the ruling and has not presented a new timeline.

The final ruling was issued on October 6. Atea, Advania, Tele2, Telia Cygate and Conscia were among the suppliers selected in the procurement in May.

The decision comes as existing framework agreements are nearing expiration or have already ended. Agreements for data center solutions, and for servers and storage, expired on March 31. The agreement covering networks and security expires on October 18. That will leave no valid framework agreements in any of those areas.

The report does not identify the supplier that sought the review or state when the rerun will begin.
