Nintendo Switch emulation is taking a final step forward with suyu 0.0.4, which introduces static recompilation aimed at delivering “native” PC performance.
Switch emulation has allowed PC players to run games released for Nintendo’s system at higher resolutions and framerates than the console itself. Nintendo later ended the widespread distribution of emulators such as Yuzu and Ryujinx.
That action did not stop other developers from creating emulators. Suyu, a fork of Yuzu, continued to give PC players access to games that will never be released on PC. Work on suyu is now ending, with version 0.0.4 serving as its final major step and adding the project’s advanced static recompilation feature.
