Snapchat surpasses 30M paid subscribers

Snap has surpassed 30 million paid subscribers across Snapchat+, Memories Storage and Lens+, CEO Evan Spiegel said in a letter to investors. The company announced the milestone Wednesday in its third-quarter 2026 earnings release.

The total is up 5 million since February, when Snap reported reaching 25 million subscribers. Launched in 2022, Snapchat+ offers exclusive and pre-release features for $3.99 per month. Snap later added Lens+, an $8.99-per-month plan with exclusive Lenses and augmented reality experiences, and Snapchat+ Platinum, a $15.99 monthly tier that removes ads.

Snap said AI-powered features helped Lens+ exceed expectations. Spiegel said paid subscribers remain a small share of the company’s monthly community, leaving room for growth through wider adoption and new premium experiences.

In the same earnings release, Snap reported 495 million daily active users for the quarter, compared with 493 million in the previous quarter. The result was below analysts’ expectations of 499 million. The company’s shares fell 12% after it missed estimates for advertising revenue and user growth.

Spiegel said advertising revenue growth remains below Snap’s target. The company plans to focus on improving advertiser performance and expanding how businesses can reach its users.
