Slack previews two-way Slackbot voice chat and workflow tools

Slack is preparing a two-way voice-chat feature for Slackbot, alongside new tools for building workflow interfaces and generating content. TechRadar’s Mike Moore reported the announcements from Salesforce’s Dreamforce 2026, where Rob Seaman, Slack’s EVP and GM, described the platform as the “front door to the agentic enterprise.”

Users will be able to ask Slackbot questions in natural language and receive spoken responses. Slackbot should also be able to take real actions, such as updating a record or starting an automation. The feature is listed as “coming soon.” A Dreamforce 2026 demonstration showed Slackbot taking time to collect the required information and produce a solution, indicating that the feature is still being refined.

Slack also introduced Surface, a way to create interfaces for workflows. Users describe what they need, and Slackbot builds a Slackforce Surface that teams can filter, explore, comment on, and use together.

Slackbot is additionally gaining video and deck generation for presentations and pitches. Users will also be able to tag Slackbot in a channel, allowing everyone in the group to act on its replies.
