Musk Says Colossus 2 Will Add More Than 660,000 NVIDIA GPUs

Elon Musk says the Colossus 2 data center project in Memphis will add more than 660,000 NVIDIA GPUs. The plan is part of SpaceXAI’s effort to bring more than half a million of the company’s AI GPUs online, according to Wccftech.

Colossus began construction in 2024. Its first phase, Colossus 1, is already operational. Musk’s comments concerned the second phase, which is also being developed in Memphis.

While Colossus 1 relied primarily on NVIDIA’s Hopper GPU generation, Colossus 2 is expected to rely primarily on NVIDIA’s Blackwell GB300 GPUs, Wccftech reported. The source describes the project as aiming to add 660,000 NVIDIA GPUs; it does not provide a timeline for bringing them online.
