Mullvad releases Android VPN version 2026.10 with server map and multi-hop updates

TechRadar’s Silvia Iacovcich reports that Mullvad has released version 2026.10 of its Android VPN app. The update adds an interactive server map, an advanced multi-hop feature and several bug fixes, and is currently available on GitHub.

Google Play has not yet listed the upgrade, while Mullvad’s official website still shows version 2026.08 as its latest release. The redesign follows beta releases in August, when Mullvad tested the features for almost a month before launch.

The new map uses a rotating globe to show VPN server locations. Users can zoom, pan and explore regions, while also viewing their connection routes. Multi-hop can now activate automatically when relevant settings require it. This routes traffic through two servers.

The change is especially relevant when DAITA is enabled but selected servers do not support it directly. If DAITA is disabled, the app automatically returns to a single-server connection. Mullvad also improved location search by sorting results by relevance and adding approximate matches.

Mullvad released version 2026.09 two days ago, but an error could freeze the tunnel when the QUIC obfuscator was used. Version 2026.10 fixes that issue, although Mullvad warned that the first connection attempt may fail when using quantum-resistant tunnels or DAITA. Mullvad said a future release is expected soon to fix the connection issue.
