TechRadar reviewer Alastair Jennings tested MSI’s Pro Max Edge AI+, a mini workstation built to run artificial intelligence workloads locally and offline. The review identifies the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor, Radeon 8060S integrated graphics, an NPU rated at up to 50 TOPS and 128GB of unified memory as the hardware behind that capability.
Jennings says the machine ran local language models managed through Lemonade, including tasks involving more than 2,600 images and image generation with Flux and Qwen3 Coder through Visual Studio Code. It also generated a ten-page website, though the reviewer says this required considerable prompting. Creative work in Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro was described as impressive, including editing 4K Canon EOS R5 C footage.
The review also notes trade-offs. The memory is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded, and the 2.5GbE Ethernet connection felt slow for a workstation at this level. Running local AI also required setup and experimentation. Jennings lists prices of $5,499 in the US, €5,299 and £5,999. The review concludes that the compact system’s processing power could suit private, fully offline AI workloads once configured.
