Motorola has announced the Signature 27, a flagship smartphone with a 7,000mAh battery, 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Its display reaches a claimed peak brightness of 12,000 nits. Motorola calls it “the brightest display available in a smartphone.”
For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has a 5,000mAh battery and a 2,600-nit peak-brightness display. The iPhone 18 Pro Max has a 5,567mAh battery, or 5,391mAh in models with a removable SIM card, and a peak display brightness of 3,000 nits.
The Signature 27 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, announced in September. It also has a triple rear camera system: 50MP wide, 50MP ultra-wide and 200MP 3x periscope zoom cameras, with up to 100x AI-powered zoom. A dedicated EVS action sensor is designed to help capture fast-moving subjects. The front camera is 50MP.
Other features include Audio by Bang & Olufsen, IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, Android with Gemini Intelligence support, and a promise of seven years of software updates. The phone also supports GrapheneOS, which the source says had previously been limited to Google Pixel devices.
The Signature 27 is priced at £1,299.99, roughly $1,750 or AU$2,495. US and Australian prices and availability have not been confirmed. It is due to ship in Europe on November 16 in Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive. TechRadar says a full review is expected in the coming weeks.
