Minisforum S5 NAS Offers Up to 40TB With Fanless Cooling

Minisforum has introduced the S5, a NAS designed around fully passive cooling and zero-noise operation, according to Wccftech.

The unit uses several M.2 SSD slots to support up to 40TB of total storage. Its configuration includes five M.2 SSD slots, giving users multiple internal storage positions within the NAS.

The S5 is powered by an Intel Core 3 304 processor from Intel’s Core Series 3. The chip belongs to the Wildcat Lake family and is described as the slowest Wildcat Lake CPU in the report.

Minisforum’s S5 also includes two LAN ports. The combination of passive cooling, multiple M.2 slots, and dual LAN connectivity positions the unit as an option for users seeking a silent NAS.
