Meta launches enterprise AI platform and hires MongoDB CEO

Meta has launched Meta Enterprise Platform, an initiative to bring its artificial intelligence products and services to businesses and developers. The company has hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan “CJ” Desai to lead it, according to TechCrunch.

Meta says the platform will bring its technology stack to business customers, including Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. The move builds on Muse, Meta’s personal AI assistant, which launched earlier this month and can perform tasks such as sending emails and booking travel.

Desai said in a statement that Meta aims to turn its AI stack into products and services companies can deploy in their own operations. He cited Meta’s models and agents, along with its experience helping millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of businesses scale.

MongoDB shares fell more than 17% after Desai’s departure was announced, TechCrunch reported. MongoDB appointed former CEO Dev Ittycheria as interim chief executive while its board searches for a permanent replacement.
