Maya Mobile eSIM Review: One Plan Covers 165+ Countries

TechRadar’s Pawan Singh reviewed Maya Mobile’s eSIM, which offers day-based data plans with coverage across more than 165 countries. The service is designed for travelers visiting multiple countries, with the same pricing regardless of destination.

The review says Maya currently offers four plans. Each “day” lasts 24 hours from activation, and there is no required subscription. Auto Top-Up is optional. The plans offer less flexibility for shorter trips: a five-day trip requires a seven-day plan, while a ten-day trip requires a 14-day plan.

For comparison, the US National Travel and Tourism Office reported that overseas visitors stayed an average of 16.9 nights in the United States in 2025. That exceeds Maya’s 14-day plan and would require its $49.99 30-day option. A Global + Cruise option is also available, starting at $49.99 for three days.

Singh notes that coverage depends on Maya’s local network partners, which vary by destination. The service is data-only, with no local phone number, calls, or SMS. Users can keep a regular SIM active for calls and messages.

The review also flags conflicting descriptions of “unlimited” data. Maya advertises no caps or throttling, while its Help Center says speeds may fall to 10Mbps after more than 3GB of use in a day, and to 1Mbps if very high usage continues. The restrictions are removed within 24 hours, according to the Help Center. Singh says the storefront, Help Center, and terms should be consistent before “no throttling” is read as a promise of unlimited full-speed data.
