Jura has launched the C9, a compact bean-to-cup coffee machine and follow-up to the C8. The new model offers a menu of 17 drinks, including a milder brewing mode that uses a smaller dose of coffee and brews at around 60C. TechRadar reports that the mode is intended to produce a smoother, lighter-tasting drink that is ready to enjoy.
The C9 offers seven grind sizes, three brewing-strength options and three brewing temperatures. Users can customise drinks using its 2.8-inch colour display or Jura’s JOE app, which also supports remote brewing.
The machine measures 10.2 x 12.8 x 17.2 inches (26 x 32.5 x 43.7 cm), listed as width, height and depth. Despite its compact size, it has a full-size brewing unit and uses Jura’s Pulse Extraction Process (PEP), which the company says aims to optimise how long the coffee grounds remain in contact with water.
Its glossy black finish, wave-patterned water tank and cup grille resemble the C8, while the curved front panel is similar to those on Jura’s flagship models. TechRadar notes comparisons with the J10, which its author tested last year, and the E10, which the author says they plan to review in the coming weeks.
The C9 is available directly from Jura and through third-party stores for £895.
