Google brings Gemini Live voice features to Gmail, Docs and Keep

Google has launched conversational voice features for Gemini across Gmail, Google Docs and Keep. The tools let users speak to Workspace apps instead of typing, while Gemini Audio models interpret intent and retrieve relevant information.

Gmail Live can answer questions such as which gate a flight departs from or what is happening at a child’s school during the week. Users can receive information from their emails without manually finding the relevant message.

Docs Live focuses on creating documents from natural-language prompts. Google says users can give Gemini a “brain dump”, which the tool organizes into a structured draft. Docs Live can also draw information from Google Drive, Gmail and the internet.

Keep Live turns spoken thoughts into organized notes rather than simply transcribing them word for word. Gmail Live and Keep Live are initially available to Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers. Docs Live is limited to Pro and Ultra subscribers, so Plus members cannot access it. Business customers are also set to receive the updates soon. Google first previewed the conversational voice features earlier in May.
