Gemini for Home adds AT&T Connected Life integration

AT&T’s Connected Life smart home security system now works with Gemini for Home, bringing Google’s AI features to the service. AT&T says Connected Life is the “first” home security product to integrate with Google Home Premium.

The integration can provide detailed descriptions of events captured by security cameras, such as who delivered a package and how many items they dropped off. Users can also search recorded footage with natural language questions, review daily activity summaries for inside and outside the home, and get summaries of home events.

These Gemini for Home features are available only through AT&T’s professional Connected Life monitoring plan, which costs $29.99 per month. AT&T is also adding automatic arming and disarming based on a user’s proximity to home.

AT&T launched Connected Life last December in partnership with Google and Abode. The system now uses Google’s Gemini-powered Home APIs, which let smart home brands and developers build AI features into their devices. ADT has also hinted that it may bring Gemini for Home features to its security systems.
