DJI Romo P wins TechRadar’s Home Device of the Year

DJI’s first robot vacuum, the Romo P, has been named TechRadar’s Home Device of the Year in its 2026 Product of the Year Awards. TechRadar’s Cat Ellis praised its navigation, obstacle detection and cleaning performance.

The Romo P uses dual fisheye cameras and LiDAR to detect objects as small as 2mm thick. DJI’s drone navigation expertise, which the source says has been used since 2016, informs the robot’s pathfinding.

For cleaning, the vacuum combines 25,000Pa suction with extendable brushes. Its dual mop heads clean hard floors and extend toward furniture edges; they lift automatically when the robot moves onto carpet. The source says its cleaning performance compares well with established brands including Roborock and Dreame.

After cleaning, an automated dock empties the dust bin into a sealed bag, washes and dries the mop pads, and recharges the robot. DJI Home lets users set schedules, adjust suction and water levels by room, set no-go zones, and monitor progress. The app can also show a view from the robot’s cameras and supports voice control.

TechRadar describes the robot and dock’s transparent panels as a distinctive design feature. Ellis selected the Romo P as the outlet’s Home Device of the Year.
