Disney raises US Disney+ and Hulu prices by up to 13%

Disney has confirmed price increases in the US for all but three of its standalone Disney+ and Hulu plans, as well as bundles that include both services. Bloomberg had reported that the company was preparing its sixth subscription price increase in as many years.

The largest increase affects the Hulu-Disney+ Premium (ad-free) bundle, which will rise by 13% to $21.49 per month. New and existing subscribers will pay an additional $2.50 every 30 days. Other standalone plans and bundles will increase by between $0.50 and $3.00.

Disney told TechRadar that three bundles, including its cheapest Hulu-Disney+ bundle with ads, will remain unchanged. A Disney spokesperson said competitors had raised prices by an average of 13% this year, while Disney had increased its standalone ad-supported offerings by 4%.

Disney also said it was investing in new technology, features, and personalization for Disney+, with those improvements expected to support a single-app experience later this year.

There is currently no announcement for UK or European pricing. A Disney+ UK spokesperson told TechRadar that the company had nothing to share about pricing in those regions at this time. In previous years, price increases reached the UK and Europe after US increases, but Disney has not confirmed that will happen this time.
