Criminal IP Introduces AITEM for Threat Exposure Management

Criminal IP, a cyber threat intelligence platform operated by AI SPERA, has introduced AITEM (AI-Powered Threat Exposure Management), its proposed next step for Attack Surface Management (ASM). The company says AITEM is intended to connect exposure discovery with investigation, risk prioritization, and response.

Traditional ASM tools help organizations find internet-facing assets such as servers, domains, IP addresses, and admin panels. Criminal IP argues that finding assets alone is no longer enough, as security teams also need context to assess and act on risks. CEO Byungtak Kang said AI can help filter noise, add context, and guide investigations, while people focus on judgment, accountability, and prioritization.

AITEM is designed to cover external assets, open-source intelligence, dark web data, internal infrastructure, Shadow AI, leaked data, and emerging vulnerabilities. Criminal IP says its threat intelligence can combine information such as open ports, exposed services, vulnerabilities, connected infrastructure, abuse history, scanner activity, threat attribution, and malicious infrastructure to help teams understand an exposure and its context.

AI SPERA will participate in GovWare 2026 in Singapore, where Kang is scheduled to present “From Visibility to Threat Hunting: A Case Study of AI-Driven Attack Surface Management.” The source also describes AITEM as a direction Criminal IP is pursuing, rather than reporting a completed product launch.
