Coolgeek P1 Cassette Player launches on Kickstarter with Bluetooth 5.3

Coolgeek has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the P1 Cassette Player, a new portable cassette player with modern connectivity and a transparent body. The company previously drew attention for an RGB light-up turntable.

The P1 supports Bluetooth 5.3 for listening through wireless headphones. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port used for charging. A small HD display is primarily intended to help arrange the Bluetooth connection.

Images show a colorful LED indicator column, though Coolgeek did not specify what it displays. The transparent casing lets listeners see the cassette turning during playback.

Coolgeek told TechRadar that the design aims to have its own identity rather than simply imitate older cassette players. Compared with many recent models featuring pastel colors and curved edges, the P1 has a more mechanical, industrial appearance inspired by technology from the 1970s and 1980s.

The player is being offered through Kickstarter and is not immediately available to buy. TechRadar reported that, based on what it had been told, the product appeared to be relatively far along in production, but the company did not provide a release date.
