The Braun OptiBrew Pro is a drip coffee maker with five brew styles: Regular, Bold, Over Ice, Cold Brew and Coffee Shot. It offers seven brew sizes, from an 8-ounce serving to a 12-cup carafe. The other options are 10, 12, 16 and 20 ounces, plus a six-cup half-carafe.
The Coffee Shot setting makes about 3 ounces of concentrated coffee. It is not technically espresso, though the review says it has a similar strength and can be used for drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos. A built-in frother can froth milk but does not heat it.
The machine includes a reusable filter and can also take a #4 cone-shaped paper filter. Its touch screen provides brew settings, including adjustments for high altitude and hard water. An auto-brew function lets users schedule brewing, while a warming feature can keep coffee warm for up to 4 hours and can also reheat cold coffee.
TechRadar reports that most parts are dishwasher-safe; the removable frother needs to be washed by hand. The review lists a retail price of $199.95 and dimensions of 6.9 x 14.6 x 11.8 inches (175 x 370 x 300 mm).
