Anthropic commits $100 million to train 10,000 enterprise AI engineers

Anthropic plans to spend $100 million on its Claude Frontier Academy, a training program intended to support enterprise AI adoption. The company aims to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers (FDEs) by the end of 2027.

The FDEs will learn to identify use cases, address security considerations and support Claude deployments for customers. The program begins with a simulated enterprise deployment, followed by a 12-week residency in which participants lead a real Claude use case at their own organization, according to the announcement.

Initial cohorts are expected to include engineers from Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley and Novo Nordisk. Anthropic says it has already issued more than 175,000 Claude certifications to workers at 46,000 companies in its Claude Partner Network.

The initiative trains engineers from other organizations to become FDEs. The source contrasts this with OpenAI’s program, which it describes as training its own employees to work on transforming customers’ companies. Reuters recently reported that OpenAI’s enterprise sales had doubled since July 2026; the source gives no specific sales figures. Anthropic’s $100 million commitment is intended to help more businesses deploy Claude, though the announcement does not state how many additional customers it expects to gain.
