Anduril and Poland’s PGZ plan local Barracuda-500M missile production

Anduril has partnered with Poland’s state-owned PGZ to jointly produce the Barracuda-500M, a new ground-launched cruise missile system. The weapon is expected to be manufactured locally under a long-term arrangement covering local assembly and eventual full-scale production in Poland.

A full-scale mock-up was displayed at this week’s MSPO defense exhibition in Kielce. The companies have not disclosed whether components will initially come from the United States, or when full-scale production and operations could begin.

Anduril is separately pitching two autonomous aircraft for Poland’s future fleets. The Fury combat drone is being proposed as a loyal wingman for Poland’s incoming batch of 32 F-35 fighters. Anduril says the U.S. Air Force has selected Fury for a formal, funded procurement effort.

The company’s Thunder rotorcraft is designed to operate alongside Poland’s planned fleet of 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters. Thunder was publicly unveiled at the Farnborough Airshow in July. Delivery of the 96 helicopters and associated equipment and weapons systems is scheduled to begin in 2028.

Brian Moran, who oversees Anduril’s European business operations, said Poland would become the world’s second-largest Apache operator after the United States. Poland is also discussing a possible purchase of Thunder with Anduril.
