Amazon is adding features to Alexa for Shopping, its AI shopping assistant, that let customers create and edit shopping lists and gift registries, and move items between them. Amazon says customers can ask the assistant to “Create a new shopping list” or “Show me what’s left on my wedding registry.”
The assistant launched in May and appears next to the search bar in Amazon’s app and on its website. It can also set price alerts, compare items and automatically purchase products when they fall below a set price.
New features also let Alexa for Shopping update delivery instructions, answer billing questions about unrecognized charges and refunds, and pause or change recurring deliveries. Amazon says the features are rolling out to customers in the US.
Amazon has continued to expand Alexa for Shopping while resisting third-party AI shopping agents from companies including Meta and Perplexity.
