After eight years at Meta, Rohit Patel launches Ndoc

Rohit Patel is leaving Meta after eight years working on artificial intelligence, TechCrunch has exclusively learned. Patel, a former director at Meta Superintelligence Labs, has launched Ndoc, which he describes as an AI-native alternative to Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

Ndoc combines three components in one workspace: Stage for presentations such as slide decks and dashboards, Narrative for analysis and explanations, and Model for datasets and Python scripts. Users can upload data and ask the platform to analyze it and write about the findings. Patel says users can inspect the scripts behind documents and ask the AI to explain them.

Patel says Ndoc uses a mixture of open-source models and costs less to run than alternatives built on frontier AI models. Documents can be exported as a single “.ndoc.html” file that opens in a browser. He plans to open-source the format so developers can build compatible apps.

The startup has a team of three and no funding. It faces competition from enterprise AI products by OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, SpaceXAI, and Google, as well as Space, a shared workspace inside ChatGPT that OpenAI launched last month. Patel says Ndoc is intended to bring work into one workspace, while connectors let customers import data from tools they already use.
