Apple’s A20 Pro delivers higher memory bandwidth than Xiaomi’s XRING 03, despite using older LPDD5X RAM. The comparison highlights how chip design can affect performance even when a competing chipset supports a newer memory standard.
The A20 Pro was designed around a packaging change intended to help Apple’s newest 2nm SoC deliver raw performance gains and improve the on-device AI experience. Apple’s engineers increased memory bandwidth without switching to LPDDR6, avoiding an unnecessary rise in costs.
Xiaomi’s XRING 03 supports LPDDR6 RAM, but its maximum memory bandwidth remains below the A20 Pro’s figure. The A20 Pro reaches 115.2GB/s, while the XRING 03 tops out at 113.8GB/s.
That gives the A20 Pro the higher bandwidth result in this comparison, even though the XRING 03 supports LPDDR6 and the A20 Pro uses LPDD5X RAM.
