8849 has introduced the TANK 5 Pro, a rugged smartphone designed for outdoor and industrial use. It measures 177.1 x 87 x 33.8mm and weighs 715g.
The phone features a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with 1440×3200 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3000-nit peak brightness. It uses a MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor on a 4nm process. The seller claims a score above 2.3 million on AnTuTu, compared with about 2.2 million for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
A 17,600mAh dual-cell battery supports 120W wired charging, which the listing says takes roughly 90 minutes. The phone also includes a 2K 220-lumen projector with laser autofocus and ±45° keystone correction. Its laser module doubles as a four-meter rangefinder, while the projector lens can function as a flashlight.
The infrared camera has a 95° horizontal field of view and uses a FLIR Lepton 3.1R sensor with 160×120 resolution. Its sensitivity is below 50 millikelvin, and two gain modes cover temperatures from −10°C to 400°C. The rear camera system also includes 50MP main, telephoto, and night vision cameras.
The TANK 5 Pro is listed at £903.01, or about $1,224. It supports IP68 and IP69K certification under the IEC 60529 standard, with caveats about water exposure, wear, impacts, operating temperature, and ultraviolet exposure.
