NTDEV runs Windows 11 26H2 with 128 MB of RAM

Developer NTDEV says Windows 11 26H2 can run with 128 MB of RAM, according to Turkish technology news site LOG. The project uses a stripped-down version of Windows 11 that is 699 MB in size, small enough to fit on a standard CD.

In a post cited by LOG, NTDEV said the complete ISO, including the installer, is under 700 MB. The system still reaches the desktop and runs applications; NTDEV also said Paint works.

NTDEV described the 128 MB result as a possible world record and said it was the first time Windows 11 26H2 had run with that amount of memory. The project was driven by an effort to see how far Windows 11 could be reduced without losing its main functions, LOG reported.
