Meta launches AI fashion app Style Sketch in three countries

Meta has launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app that helps users create outfit ideas from clothes they already own. The app is available on iOS and Android in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Meta has not said whether it plans a wider launch.

Style Sketch can build a virtual closet from clothing photos users have posted on Instagram. Users can also add items by taking a photo, recording a short video or uploading images from their camera roll. The app suggests combinations from their wardrobe and lets them try outfits on a virtual model matched to their body shape and skin tone, according to its description.

Users can choose an item and get outfit ideas built around it. They can also enter a trip destination, length and planned activities to receive a day-by-day outfit plan that considers the weather forecast and itinerary.

Social media consultant Matt Navarra first spotted the app. Meta did not respond to TechCrunch’s request for comment.

Other services also use AI to digitize wardrobes and suggest outfits, including the startup Alta and Google Photos. Style Sketch is among Meta’s recent AI apps, alongside Waddle World, Pocket and Vibes. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier this year that CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees Meta planned to release more apps than it historically had, citing AI-driven efficiencies that made app development faster and easier.
