Oracle co-CEO Mike Sicilia said artificial intelligence could give people “more time to be human” by reducing work that employees do today. Speaking at Oracle’s annual AI World conference, he questioned how much of that work will be necessary in the future.
Oracle introduced new Claw-powered Fusion Agentic Applications designed to analyze business data, simulate outcomes and carry out approved actions. The company says its recruiting team uses agentic AI to prepare market research in 15–20 minutes, a task that previously took two to four days.
One application, Strategic Field Demand Planning, is designed to predict staffing needs, find coverage gaps and handle adjustments. Another, Executive Briefing Document, can gather a customer’s history, company news and revenue potential into a briefing ahead of a meeting.
Oracle Applications Development SVP Kartik Raghavan said the tools can help organizations turn business objectives into growth opportunities, reliable service and stronger customer trust. Sicilia’s remarks also raised questions about how companies may use time freed by automation. The source notes that job displacement remains a concern and that the effects of this additional time are not yet clear.
