Discord improves Markdown previews and adds server tools

Discord says Markdown file previews now display with formatting instead of appearing as “a bunch of symbols.” The company says the update supports tables and other formatting when users upload a Markdown (.md) file.

Markdown files are often used to share instructions and context with large language models and AI agents. The improved previews could help people sharing information about AI projects on Discord, though the company did not make a specific claim about that use.

The update also adds a “Move to…” feature. Users can right-click a server or channel icon in the sidebar to organize servers and channels.

Discord Nitro members can now upload files as large as 1GB. Separately, Google recently began letting users edit Markdown files directly in Docs without converting them to the Docs format.
