Ubisoft’s Beyond Good & Evil 2 is still in pre-production, according to a report by Wccftech. The report says the game has been in development since 2007 and that Ubisoft was still hiring for it in late 2025.
The report attributes the project’s status to a “complete loss of understanding of what this project should be.” It also says the game has shifted toward a solo adventure with combat compared to Spider-Man, while arguing that it still lacks a clear identity.
Development delays are not unusual in games, but the report describes Beyond Good & Evil 2 as a long-running example. It says the project has not reached a clear starting point, despite years in development. The source does not provide a release date or further details about the game’s current design.
