Apple says it will have “limited” iPhone Duo models available for in-store sales, according to Reuters. The foldable launches Friday, October 23, but online preorders quickly sold out, and some delivery estimates extend into next year.
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable. It has a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner screen, and starts at $1,999. Recent reports suggested Apple might not have enough units for walk-in store sales.
MacRumors reported that customers in Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates can get the device only with a pickup reservation. Apple said last week that preorder demand for its first foldable iPhone had been “nothing short of extraordinary.” The company said it was working to get the product to customers as quickly as possible and would continue taking orders online.
Apple did not immediately respond to The Verge’s request for comment.
