TechRadar’s James Holland reviewed the Hisense U7, a mid-market mini-LED television released in early March 2026 alongside the U6 and U6 Pro. He describes the U7 as good value for its features, while noting picture and search limitations.
The review says the U7’s picture can approach that of more expensive Hisense and TCL TVs, but saturated colors can bleed, the screen has minor vignetting, and color accuracy is slightly lower. Holland also found some backlight uniformity concerns. Sound is better than average and may be enough without a basic soundbar, though bass is limited.
Features include hands-free Google Gemini voice control, a quick game menu and a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The TV supports HDR10, HDR10+, HDR10+ Adaptive, HLG and Dolby Vision, as well as Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X. The review notes that Gemini search results can be inconsistent, including directing a movie request to the wrong streaming service.
Prices and screen sizes vary by model. TechRadar gives the 65-inch Google TV model an MSRP of $1,499.99, reduced to $999.99, and says it has seen the 65-inch Fire TV version fall to $799.99. The review lists the 85-inch model at $1,699.99 and the 116-inch model at $21,999.99. Its verdict is that the U7 offers strong value, with compromises compared with higher-end sets.
