Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro reach end of support

Microsoft says Windows 11, version 24H2 Home and Pro editions reached the end of support on October 13, 2026. The October 2026 monthly security update is the last update available for those editions.

Devices running them will no longer receive monthly security or non-security preview updates, including protections against the latest security threats, according to Microsoft. The company’s lifecycle policy keeps Windows 11 24H2 Enterprise and Education editions under mainstream support until October 12, 2027.

Microsoft recommends upgrading to Windows 11 26H2, also called the Windows 11 2026 Update. The version became generally available in September 2026 as an enablement package and is now rolling out in phases to eligible devices with the “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” option enabled. Microsoft says the rollout will expand over the next few months. Windows 11 26H2 is due to reach end of support for consumers in October 2029.

Separately, Microsoft said Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 also reached end of updates on October 13, 2026. Windows Server 2022 reached the end of mainstream support on that date but remains under extended support until October 2031.
