Meta is adding a feature called “Your Algorithm” to Facebook that lets people manage topics they want to see in their feed and Facebook Reels. Users can add topics directly or mark posts as “interested” or “not interested.”
The controls are available from the three-dot menu on individual posts. The buttons may also appear beneath posts. Meta says it may ask follow-up questions to learn more about what users liked or disliked, and that recommendations update in real time after changes.
Meta describes the feature as part of a set of AI-powered tools for customizing what people see on Facebook. The company also says it is using large language models more in its ranking systems, which it says can account for interests, context and intent expressed in natural language.
Your Algorithm launched on Instagram earlier this year, according to the source. Meta has also introduced a similar feature called “Dear Algo” on Threads.
