TSMC may reach its 2027 production targets for its 2-nanometer chip process a year ahead of schedule, according to a report from Taiwan cited by Wccftech.
The report attributes the stronger outlook to orders from NVIDIA, AMD and other technology companies. It describes 2-nanometer as TSMC’s leading-edge process technology and says demand for it is booming.
The report follows a separate estimate from Bank of America that TSMC’s leading-edge production lines might be booked until 2028. That estimate points to a shift in an industry that has historically been cyclical, according to the source.
The report does not provide a specific production figure or identify the other companies placing orders. Its claims about the timing of TSMC’s targets and bookings are attributed estimates, rather than confirmed production results.
