TFG London says a cyberattack disrupted IT systems used by its Phase Eight, Hobbs and Whistles fashion brands. The company detected the incident on October 11 and activated its incident response and business continuity plans, bringing in external cybersecurity experts to help contain the threat.
Several IT systems remain unavailable, but the brands’ physical stores are open. TFG London said the incident has not affected its other brands, Inside Story and White Stuff, or its operations in Australia and Africa. TFG London is the UK subsidiary of South Africa’s The Foschini Group, which owns those five brands.
The company is investigating whether customer information was compromised. It said it would notify affected individuals or organizations if their data was affected. As of the report, TFG London had not confirmed any customer data exposure. BleepingComputer reported that it could not find any threat actor publicly claiming responsibility for the breach.
The incident follows a data breach at UK retailer ASOS. The company confirmed attackers used social engineering to steal an employee’s login credentials and access customer data, including names, contact details and account information. The source also reported rumors of an attack at H&M, but said the company had found no indications that its data environment was compromised.
