Apple’s New Apple TV 4K Adds Siri AI Microphones and Find My

Apple announced a refreshed Apple TV 4K with far-field microphones for hands-free Siri AI requests and Find My support in its remote. The fourth-generation streaming box was unveiled at the company’s Welcome Home event in New York City.

The device costs $299 and will be available November 13, with preorders opening October 13. It has an A19 chip, 128GB of storage, an Ethernet port, and support for Thread and Matter, alongside Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Apple says it is the first Apple TV model to support Siri AI.

Siri AI will launch in beta in English in eight countries: the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and India. Users can speak to the assistant through the remote or the new microphones. Apple TV displays Siri’s responses as text rather than speaking them aloud. The feature also supports personal context drawn from an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone, such as finding a show mentioned in a text message.

The new model can pair up to four compatible HomePod speakers for surround sound, arranged as two pairs. Supported configurations include four second-generation HomePods, four HomePod Mini 2 speakers, or one pair of each. Apple says the speakers calibrate automatically to their placement in the room.

Find My can make the Siri Remote play a sound or show its precise location in the iPhone app. Apple says the location feature uses Bluetooth channel sounding, which does not require a UWB chip.
