Light spoilers follow for VisionQuest.
VisionQuest closes Marvel’s Wanda/Vision TV trilogy with a genre-spanning superhero story led by Paul Bettany and James Spader. The series follows White Vision, a reconstructed synthezoid who is struggling with his identity and the memories restored from his past life.
Living in Edinburgh under the name Sherwood, Vision turns to the AI programs in his system for purpose, including Ultron, whose code remains there. His quiet life is disrupted when mercenary Paladin hunts him for a mysterious client seeking his advanced technology. Vision also meets Thomas Shepard, a thief who says he is one of Vision and Wanda’s twin sons. On the run, Vision must evade capture, find out the truth about Thomas, and resist Ultron’s influence.
TechRadar reviewer Tom Power praises Bettany’s portrayal of a colder, morally gray Vision and says the actor brings depth to the character’s emotional turmoil. Power also highlights Spader’s return as Ultron, describing his performance as a standout. The review says the eight-part series gives the actors room to explore Vision and Ultron’s complicated father-son bond, balancing philosophical exchanges and humor with quieter, more emotional scenes.
Power calls VisionQuest an effective and emotionally resonant conclusion to the trilogy, following WandaVision and Agatha All Along. He also notes that the series points toward a future for some members of its cast.
